Third graders at Briarwood have a lot to look forward to! By the end of the year, they will be writing multiple paragraph expository and narrative pieces! They will have spent time mastering multiplication and division facts. Reading a lot and working on building a strong sight word vocabulary at home, this will help them with their in-class focus on comprehension strategies of fiction and non-fiction text. Large units of study which integrate well with reading, writing and technology include the following: Electricity, Changes of Matter, Puget Sound Land Features and Salmon Habitat, Pioneers, Native Americans and Rocks and Minerals. This is just a sampling of the rich experiences for our third graders at Briarwood!
