From Ms. Hall

My goal as a physical education teacher is to make fitness so much fun that kids forget how hard they're working. Each class spends 4 hours per month participating in P.E. (exception/half day kindergarten). My hope is that students apply their fitness knowledge and choose "healthy heart" activities at least 4 days/week on their own. The children need your help and encouragement in that area as well as mine!

Students should come to the gym ready for anything... that means comfortable/casual clothing along with safe tennis shoes (no slip-ons, platform soles, or sandals). Please remember that black soled shoes often leave dark scuff marks on the gym floor.

These three statements sum up the philosophy of the physical education program here at Briarwood Elementary:

bullet

Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.

bullet

Respect people for what they are and what they stand for, even if you don't agree.

bullet

Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm

Students assess themselves periodically at the end of class. They consider these questions as part of their personal assessment:

Did I give my best effort?
Did I display a positive attitude?
Did I behave safely?
Did I help someone else?
