Washington State History Museum

     The Washington State History Museum located in Tacoma, Washington, offers interactive exhibits on the history of Washington State. Experience life before the European explorers came to Washington, as a fur trapper working for the Hudson Bay Company or as a citizen on the frontier. Learn how the Great Depression, the railroads, and World War II changed Washington forever.

State Capitol Building in Olympia:

     Olympia, Washington, is the home of our state government. The Capitol Building was completed in 1927, 38 years after Washington became a state. Stroll through gardens dotted with statues and special memorials, visit the Temple of Justice, the State's Supreme Court Building, and look in on Legislative sessions from January to March.

Museum of Flight:

     Head to south Seattle and visit the Museum of Flight. Examine the full-sized aircrafts hanging above your head, walk down the aisle of the first presidential jet – the original Air Force One, go back in time in the "Red Barn" or join a team of astronauts and enjoy a two-hour simulation in NASA’s Mission Control and space station.

Marine Science Afloat:

     Embark on a five and a half hour science cruise from Pier 55 on Seattle's Waterfront.  Study the diverse biology and habitats of the Puget Sound through observing and analyzing live specimens brought up from the water by SCUBA divers.  Learn how to run water-sampling tests to determine temperature, density and salinity as a lead-in to discussions on pollution issues affecting the Puget Sound.

         Tour the Port of Seattle by ship or stroll through Sea/Tac Airport to learn their important roles in Washington’s Economy. International trade is a significant industry in Seattle due to our relationship with the Pacific Rim. Learn about the many consumer goods brought in to our country (imports) and about the goods shipped out (exports).
