Homework for Thursday, October 16, 2008

 

1. Personal Reading: Please read for 20-30 minutes tonight. This may involve re-reading The Gold Coin  in "B.O.B." (Big Orange Book-McGraw-Hill Reading series)

2. Math: Study Link 3.4 (Using a Protractor)

3. Reading: Worksheet 43-44 (Make Generalizations (Introduction)/Compound Words-Introduction)/Re-read The Gold Coin (140-161) in "B.O.B.

4. Homework Packet: Spelling Sheet (Find six misspelled words in the paragraph and correct them, and write a short piece, using spelling words, on the lines at bottom). Study for tomorrow's spelling test. Also, complete the comprehension questions (10) that go along with this week's Time for Kids.

Dinner Table Talking Points:

1. What book did is Mr. Rossiter reading during "Read Aloud" ? He is reading Gary Paulsen's Hatchet.

2. Say, what's for lunch tomorrow? Chicken Rings, Veggie Burger, Yogurt, or Potato.

3. Thank you for the Campbell Soup labels and Box Tops! Keep them coming!

4. Lunch Account:  Please make sure your son or daughter has enough money in their account.

5. Fridays are jersey days in Room 206.

8. International Music Club meets on Wednesdays after school gets out!

9. Running Club: Running Club meets after school today from 3:00-3:45. Strap on those running shoes, and get after it!

10. We have had a "rash" of no name papers, and people forgetting to turn in their assignments in the morning.  I shared with the class that I was done tracking these people down.  If work isn't turned in on time, students will need to do a little "stop and go" penalty (NASCAR term) at recess to help remind them to turn in their work!  Thanks for your support and reinforcement at home.
